Disaster Response Training
Sept. 810The Adventist Community Services Disaster Response Institute will be held at the Oregon Conference Gladstone Park Conference Center. The institute will include the full curriculum of disaster response training and will provide the highest level of certification for those who complete the courses presented. Courses will include disaster volunteer orientation, disaster preparedness, disaster leadership, warehouse management and others. Classes will also be offered in Spanish. For more information, visit

Retired Workers Fellowship
May 2All retired denominational workers are invited to attend the 12-noon potluck meeting of the Oregon Retired Workers Fellowship. Concerts at Sunnyside Church
May 6Oregon Adventist Mens Chorus festival concerts, directed by Lou Wildman, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. May 20Sunnyside choir concert, directed by Travis Hatton, will be a collection of John Rutters music. The main part of the concert is The Requiem. Other pieces also being presented: Behold, The Tabernacle of God, Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Thy Piece, The Lord is My Light and My Salvation, All Things Bight and Beautiful, and Go Forth in Peace. The First Baptist Church of Portland choir will be joining us, and we will be accompanied by the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra at 4 p.m. The concert will be repeated on Sunday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, corner of Taylor and S.W. 11th in Portland.

Mike Bishop at Whipple Creek
June 10Whipple Creek Church will feature Mike Bishop as speaker at the 11 a.m. worship hour and at 8 p.m. in concert. A native of Portland, Ore., Bishop graduated from PAA and WWC and has provided music for Adventist audiences since he started in the boys' choir in 1970. Following this, he played trumpet in the band Rice Trumpeteers and sang in Schola Contorum and the concert choir. In 2002 he released his first CD. All are welcome.
